Artificial intelligence is making serious inroads and is coming to a business near you.
There are many promises being made about automation and how this will help accelerate the hiring process. AI will change the hiring and recruiting practices in the future, it will have an impact on the overall process by making it a little faster and possibly more efficient.

Improve Efficiency And Experience
AI can enable real relationships between companies and candidates. It will improve the candidate experience by making early interactions more personalized, therefore laying the groundwork for legitimate and relevant interviews as the hiring process proceeds.
Hire Quicker And Smarter
AI will be able to scan and identify the top candidates in a batch of applicants, something that would normally be very time consuming for a recruiter depending on the number of applicants. The scheduling of interviews will be an automated process and natural language from chatbots will allow for a more responsive candidate experience. Behavioural and situational interview assessments may leverage AI and projecting analytics to capture data to ensure the right match.
Reducing Hiring Bias:
The algorithms being developed for this new tool need to be fair and ethical. Therefore, if the AI algorithms are set on skills and experience match, then hiring bias (e.g., gender, race, age) can be reduced using AI.
AI support will help to reduce the workload for some tasks, but ultimately interviewing and hiring for behaviours is what fashions the best outcome for both employee and employer. Will AI have the capability to screen for behaviours? Who knows, but my guess is it will be a while yet.
